Valentine's Day mini fridge magnet for the special person.
Both parts needed for this project were cut from 1.5mm birch plywood top layer was all cuts done on the D1 pro 10w with a setting of 100% @ a speed of 7mm/s with 1 pass the second or bottom layer was also cut out from the same 1/5mm birch plywood but also had an area engraved, the engraving can be whatever you like proving it fits the area designated for the engraving.
once design was created I placed wood material in the laser work area, I framed a small rectangle around the material to square and center the engraving.
once the top layer of the design was cut out it immediately got a coat of flat white spray paint, the paint of choice is the painter's touch fast dry
repeating the work with the laser it was time to cut and engrave the back layer of the project, once the was done with the D1 pro 10W it was time for it's own paint job. This time it was done with painter's pens 2 different colors were used to depict the red rose and the green leaves.
once both parts were painted and dried, it was time to glue the 2 pieces on top of each other with a few simple dabs of wood glue, once this was complete the entire project was turned over to reveal the back side.
once the back side was exposed, I simply added very small earth magnets these magnets are only 5mm in dia. and only 1mm thick. these magnets are held on with a very Strong industrial strength 2 sided tape.
as you can see these completed rose fridge magnets are only 100mm tall or about 4" in length at about 26mm wide or about 1" but with very fine detail that adds to the visual look of them. Having a second layer adds depth and structure to the design as well. Granted I put Be Mine and a name on these but the engraving text can be whatever you like providing you keep it with in the oval size on the design. this project is a very simple yet eye catching result that could surprise anyone on Valentine's Day.
