Step1: Cut the parts
In addition to laser cut parts, you will also require a toothpick with 2mm diameter. This is a standard diameter at least where I come from. Otherwise you will need to find something with a 2mm diameter to use as axles.
Step2: Prepare the pins
You will require 2x 2mm diameter pins.
The pins need to be 10mm long. You can cut them to length at the end.
Step3: Insert the pins
Insert the pins as in the picture. Do not glue them.
Step4: Add the gears
Add the gears as shown in the picture.
Step5: Add the other panel and glue together
Add the other side panel as shown in the picture.
Glue on the clamp and the tail which acts as another clamp. You can glue the tail on the other side as well if you prefer it that way.
There is additional spacing from the gears so make sure not to press the two sides together. They should have equal spacing through the whole part.
Step6: Glue the pins
Glue the pins only from the outside so you don't glue the gears as well.
Add a small blob of glue on top of the pin and spread it around.
Cut them to size before gluing if you didn't do it before.
