WHEN YOU BEGIN MAKING MOST ITEMS IF YOU ARE CUTTING THEM , WE NEED SOME SORT OF TEMPLATE TO START WITH, SO LETS START THERE. 

YOU WILL OPEN YOUR SHAPES AND CHOOSE AN OVAL ,AFTER YOU HAVE YOUR OVAL PLACED YOU WILL UNLOCK THE DIMENSIONS IN ORDER TO MAKE YOUR OVAL (OR SHAPE OF YOUR CHOOSING) APPROX. 11X6.5 INCHES  TO PROVIDE ENOUGH ROOM FOR FOOTPRINTS. 

ONCE YOU HAVE GOT YOUR OVAL OR SHAPE OF CHOOSING TO THE COORECT SIZE, YOU WILL THEN CREATE A CIRCLE THAT WILL BECOME THE HOLES YOUR BINDER RINGS GO THROUGH TO HOLD YOU FOOTPRINT PAGES TOGETHER. ( IT IS MUCH EASIER TO CREATE ONE CIRCLE THE CORRECT SIZE YOU NEED FOR YOUR BINDER RING SIZE OF CHOICE AND THEN USE THE ARRAY FUNTION TO EVENLY DISTRUBUTE 3 COLUMNS EVENLY . ONCE YOU HAVE YOUR 3 CIRCLES YOU WILL USE THE ALLIGN BUTTON TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE CENTERED AND THEN MOVE THEM ABOUT A ¼ OF AN INCH FROM THE LEFT EDGE. 

WHEN YOU ARE MAKING ITEMS FROM SCRATCH IT IS ALWAYS SUPER HELPFUL TO ALSO SAVE JUST A BLANK VERSION SO YOU CAN HAVE THESE STEPS DONE WHEN YOU GO TO CREATE YOUR OTHER DESIGNS FOR OTHER HOLIDAYS, EVENTS ECT. SO GO CLICK SAVE AND SAVE AS FOOTPRINT BOOK TEMPLATE FOR THIS ONE (: 

when we dive into making our own files it helps tremendously to be able to edit our projects just the way we want, in this step i will be taking a carrot from one of my carrot hanging files and using edit nodes to eliminate the keychain/ hanging hole that i previously would have had to do many more steps to do ! 

In the video included this is at about the 2 minute mark and youll notice its colorful so you can see just how quick and easy i was able to easily use another vector in this process for what i needed , there will be two nodes on the outside of keychain hole, you will click one and drag ontop of the other ,and release, then click , done, ITS REALLY “THAT ” easy, now you try! 

click on the node, drag to the other side of circle , release it, click outside your shape, and hit done! we have our carrot top!

I THEN PICK OUT MY FONTS AND BEGIN PLACING THEM WHERE THEY GO , USING THE ALIGN BUTTON TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE TRULY EVEN SO WHEN YOU GO TO CUT YOU DONT FIND OUT THEY ARE NOT PLACED CORRECT AND WASTE MATERIAL . WITH THIS PARTICULAR ITEM BEING FOR A BOOK YOU WANT TO THINK OF DESINGS THAT WILL POP WITHOUT TO MUCH EXTRA . FOR THIS DESIGN I DECIDED I WOULD MOSTLY ENGRAVE THE WRITTING AND ONLY CUT OUT MY CARROT TOPS TO CREATE A MORE DRAMTIC AFFECT.
