This jig unlike the others makes it super simple to center it without having to mark out the area each time. After the first measurement you can save the focus - the aluminum card depth and center it using the laser marker. You can scale this to use the full 30x30cm size by adding 4 extra cards on the right and larger material. Before you cut this project, I recommend you have a clamp or two on hand and use material that is fairly straight. The straighter and more ridged it is the longer it will last and have more accurate results 7 MadetoEmpower
Put in your material, Try to make it as straight as possible at the top. Double check with snapshot feature to see if your material is within bounds.
Don't skip this step, as cool and easy the snapshot feature is it is not accurate enough for this.
Mark out the area from corner to corner. making sure the brighter part of the laser is a little bit on the material you used.
Then center the whole design in the center
Glue the two pieces together, On my second iteration i used acrylic and spray on glue. But if you use super glue or wood glue i recommend spreading it out completely so the cards dont fall under the front panel
Once glued make sure the material is straight so it does not affect the focus
Mark out the depth over an aluminium card, then move the laser directly in the center of the cut out cross. Then in the software center the clean template in the middle of the cross hair.
Perfectly centered and repeatable design each time.
