Information

I made a fall center piece for my side table. I made it because going to stores and seeing all the fall stuff was really expensive and still not quite what I was looking for, I decided to make my own.

Instruction

Step1: Lazer Cut the file

I always use 55 power and 15 speed when cutting but I do two passes. I feel like it comes out clean and better for me. I leave the scoring at default.

Step2: Color It

I use acrylic paint, and since I was going for a fall feel I went with red, orange, and yellow. For leaves more of a rusty orange and dark green with some light green leaves.

Step3: Glue

Make sure you have a tray that you want to put the design in.

  1. Get floral foam and cut it to the same height as the tray so that it is flush.
  2. make sure the foam fits all the way across the tray and cut if necessary
  3. before gluing anything put the laser wood together and figure out where on the foam to place it. you will need to cut out a plus sign in the foam to insert the wood for better support. (do not glue the wood yet! that will be the last step or so)
  4. I started gluing leaves to my round foam where my light up pumpkins would sit on. I folded the leaves over on the very edge of the try but not the ones that would go towards the wood design. (keep checking that the foam fits with each leaf you add.)
  5. glue the rest of the leaves on and do your best not to cover the plus sign out that you should have cut out for the lasered wood. I did yellow, red, yellow, red and kind of over and under layered leaves when I could. after the first layer i would go back and do a second layer if the foam base was still exposed.
  6. After you have your base glued with leaves then I glued down the laser cut wood into place.
  7. I placed my light up pumpkins and added the sprigs and acorn. Occasionally adding an extra leaf or two if needed

Step4: You are all done!!

I hope you enjoyed my crafty autumn decor.
