I made a farewell gift to a coworker who loves the outdoors. Though I was tempted to make a work related tumbler, no one wants to be reminded of work ;). I'm also not a climber but was able to find a way to sub out some letters for climbing related items. Hopefully climbers will think the design is okay!
I was able to create an personalized tumbler by subbing a few letters out for things that interest her. In this case, it was climbing! The M became a climbing figure, the C was replaced by a carabiner, and the I was replaced by a rope. I filled in gaps with climbing steps.
Remember, to make a rectangle (ignored) the size of your space on your tumbler.
Height = the circumference of your tumbler
Width = the area in which you want to engrave. Make sure this area is all one depth. I've never engraved over a bump.
Make sure to choose diameter or parimeter from the top. If you choose parimeter, it would be the same hight as your rectangle above. This is what I show in the last part of the video.
Because I didn't want to block the brand, I made a rectangle and a line (both ignored) the size of the logo. This helped me locate where I wanted to engrave. I used similar settings a time or two before and it turns out pretty good.
