This piece is a detailed laser engraving depicting the fierce standoff between a honey badger and a rattlesnake in a desert setting. The design captures the raw intensity of nature, with the honey badger mid-snarl and the rattlesnake coiled and ready to strike. The background features classic desert elements, including cacti, rocky terrain, and a bright sun, giving the artwork both context and depth. Created on black acrylic, the engraving highlights fine linework and texture, making it a bold and dramatic display piece. I created the image with the help of Ai and then engraved it using my F1 IR module.
Begin by loading the project file into Creative Space. Select a piece of black acrylic sized 3” x 4” with a thickness of 3mm, as this material works best for this design. Set your laser focus accordingly—use the IR module for engraving and the Blue Diode module for cutting.
Please Note: The cat is optional! LOL
Once the engraving and cutting are complete, you can shape the bottom piece into a stand. To do this, secure the main section of the acrylic between two metal fence brackets (or a similar clamping setup) to keep it firmly in place. Using a heat gun, gently warm the bottom section of the acrylic until it becomes pliable. Carefully bend it forward to create a stable base that allows the piece to stand on its own.
