Information

An easy to assemble pencil box with a friction latch to keep it closed. Although I would still recommend using an elastic band if you intend to carry it around.
Perfect for storing your pens and pencils.

Instruction

Laser cut the required parts. You will also require some clamps or tape for assembly.

2

Step2: Assemble the long sides

Apply glue where the bottom and long sides join and add the two long sides.

Use tape to hold everything tightly together.

Do not wait for the glue to cure but assemble everything quickly.

Step3: Add one side wall

Add the side wall piece only on one end. Look at the picture at how it should be positioned.

The hole should be on top and aligned with the long wall piece that doesn't have a latch element.

Step4: Add the top cover

Slide the top cover in the side wall piece hole. Make sure there is no glue so you don't accidentally glue it in place.

Step5: Add the other side wall piece

Add the other side wall piece. Once done, make sure the whole box is tightly held together. Use tape, rubber bands or clamps.

My pieces were slightly warped so I covered the ends with tape, stood it upside on the side as in the picture and weighed it down until the glue cured.
