      This project features an AI-designed image of a majestic bald eagle set against the outline of the United States, filled with mountain and forest scenery. The design was printed on sticker paper using the xTool M1 Ultra, then precisely cut into puzzle pieces with the xTool P2s. While the entire project can be completed using just the M1 Ultra, I prefer to handle the laser cutting on the P2s to maximize efficiency and extend the life of my M1 Ultra. The result is a high-quality, custom wooden puzzle that blends modern AI creativity with the precision of laser technology.

American Eagle Puzzle – Quick Steps

Materials:

  • xTool M1 Ultra (with Ink Print Module)
  • Optional: xTool P2 for cutting
  • Printable sticker paper
  • 3mm basswood plywood sheet
  • Brayer/squeegee, masking tape, isopropyl alcohol wipes
  • Clear acrylic spray (matte or satin)

Steps

  1. Gather materials. Load your puzzle artwork and cut lines in XCS.
  2. Print. On the M1 Ultra with the Ink Print Module, print the image on sticker paper (highest quality; no mirroring). Let it dry per media instructions.
  3. Mount. Apply the printed sticker to a 3mm basswood sheet. Use a brayer to press from center outward and avoid bubbles; tape the edges if needed.
  4. Cut.

Preferred: Use the P2 with the 3mm Basswood preset; align cut lines to the print and run a quick test square for dial-in.

All-in-one option: Cut on the M1 Ultra using the same preset.

Clean & finish. Wipe light residue from the cut edges, remove masking, and assemble. Lightly spray both sides with a clear coat to protect the print and minimize edge soot.
