Laser Engraved Glass Beer Mug using the xTool F1 Ultra and Rotary.
1: Purchase a beer mug/glass from the Dollar Tree. They have great glassware that is inexpensive and can also be used to practice!
2: In order to have the xTool F1 or F1 Ultra Blue Laser make contact with the glass, black tempera paint or chalk spray can be used. I use the Montana Cans Chalk Spray Paint, of which can be purchased from Amazon for approximately $10 a can. The chalk spray will coat the glass evenly and dries fast! If you are using the chalk spray make sure you are outside or use a ventilation box as it will get EVERYWHERE.
3: Put on an even coat of the black tempera paint or chalk spray.
4: Set the xTool F1 Ultra to the following settings:
-Power: 100
-Speed: 70
-Lines Per CM: 200
Please Note! When engraving glass focus matters! Make sure your device is in focus!
5: Place glassware on the rotary tool using the manufacturers settings.
6: Upload an image/design of your choosing and press that green button!
If you have a poor engraving, it may be due to the machine being out of focus or the base of tempera paint being uneven, hence why the spray is the safer bet.
