Information

What I like is the delicate design with the rib structure of an old model airplane and, of course, the dramatic pattern that the lamp casts on the wall. Like in a film noir with Barbara Stanwyck.

In addition I made a shade for the lamp out of Japanese paper. Unfortunately, this means you can no longer see the complex construction and the beautiful pattern on the wall is also gone, but on the other hand, you don't look directly into the light bulb. I just pulled the paper over it without attaching it. Sometimes I leave it there, sometimes I take it away.

Cut it all out and stick it together! No glue needed. I can't really explain much more than that. Perhaps just this if you want to glue it together: For woodwork, I prefer a fast-acting white wood glue rather than two-component epoxy. It's just so much more fun to work with and holds like a dream!

The design is a further development of my first simple lamp project. No, actually it was the other way around: first I wanted to make this complex ribbed version, but then I lost patience and ended up with a minimalist design, three ribs only, which you can see here.

By the way, I wished I had the 40W or at least the 20W laser instead of my 10W version. Cutting out so many parts at an ultra-slow speed of 3mm/s took forever. For example a single rib with my 10W machine takes about 5 minutes and you need 36 of them ...
