this is a ceramic coaster that I painted black. you dont have to paint the tiles to engrave then but you do get a cleaner looking engrave when you do. I also included the material test for ceramic tile thats painted black. My settings that i picked that I liked was 33% power speed 155 @100LPCM Jarvis and dont forget if your engraving on a dark surface,` you have to invert the image. I left the original image as well along with one already inverted. This turned out great, actually looks like a sticker or like it was UV printed, but you can pick a different setting if you see something on the test piece you think may look better. Enjoy and dont forget to share your pics. Any questions just ask.
paint up some tiles before hand so you have them readya simple white tile painted gives you a really nice finished product. You can add other colors under the back, but yes still paint it black after whatever colors you paint it. Best to let paint dry before painting next coat and (pro tip) between coats give it a very light scuffing with a 22o grit or higher sandpaper to knock and debri off especially if your using spray paint. after your done painting download the image that you wish to engrave if you havnt already. Sometimes i may pick the design first cause depending on the picture may depend on the colors i use. anyway Just download designand invert the image and set your speed to 155 33% power Bitmap mode Jarvis 100LPCM. takes less than eight minutes. if you want make one with original image and one with it inverted that way you can see the difference thats why both images are on here because thats what i did. enjoy and dont forget to share your pictures and leave comments if you desire. any questions or advice feel free to put
