Information

Want to have your own bottle opener that fits the moment? Created a bottle opener design where you only need the standard metal opener piece that can be ordered online (I used Amazon). This project uses thinker wood - 1/4" (used basswood setting). For this one used tape to prevent burn marks so that I could engrave a dip for the hardware placement.

Instruction

Step1: Prep wood

Make sure to protect the wood as the setting requires deep engraving.  You could just do multiple runs at a lower setting to avoid this.  You can also paint the wood (have heard that burn marks can be wiped off - have not tried it for this).

Step2: Process the wood

Place the wood, tape up on the baseplate.

Do auto-measure to focus the laser (ruler icon top right).

Mark processing area (golf icon on the top right).

Check with framing (bottom right) before processing.

Process.

Remove item and remove the tape.

Line up the hardware on the recessed area.  There are small holes to help with screws.

Enjoy!
