I made this wedding cake topper for my older brother's wedding and it got quite glowing reviews. It is a very simple model to make and requires only a beginner level to make. Using a good looking wood is imperative in order to have the desired effect. The 2D vector image is an interesting change to the usual statuettes and is a much cheaper alternative. Though if using a normal varnish and not a food safe one saran wraping the stem is advised.
Cut model in choice wood. It is advised to use a fine pored wood to avoid contamination.
Stain with food safe stain and seal with a food safe varnish or polish such as ARTIDEE CREARTEC Clear Varnish.
Put in cake and there you go!
