🎯 Goal:
Engrave a pair of teardrop-shaped earrings with a geometric cutout pattern, using your xTool D1 Pro 20W, on a 3 mm thick material (e.g., wood or acrylic).
🛠️ Steps to Use with xTool Creative Space (XCS):
1. Material Preparation
Place your 3 mm thick material (e.g., plywood, MDF, or acrylic) flat and secure on the laser bed.
Set the correct laser height using the provided focusing tool or built-in adjustment.
2. Import and Position
The file is already imported and shows two mirrored earring shapes.
Position the designs within your material area.
Ensure the top holes are included for attaching hooks or rings later.
3. Laser Settings
From the screenshot, you’ve selected:
Mode: Engrave (Graver Contour)
Power: 100%
Speed: 11 mm/s
Passes: 2
⚠️ However, this setting is for engraving, not cutting. If your design is meant to be cut out, change the engraving layer to “Cut” in XCS.
👉 Recommended if you're cutting through wood (3 mm):
Mode: Cut
Power: 100%
Speed: 11–14 mm/s
Passes: 2
If you're just engraving a pattern on the surface without cutting:
Mode: Engrave
Power: 40–60%
Speed: 120–200 mm/s
Passes: 1
🎨 Test on scrap material to check depth and burn quality.
4. Preview and Framing
Use Framing to ensure the earrings are well-positioned on the material.
Make sure the design fits within the boundaries of your chosen piece.
5. Run the Job
Click Start when ready.
Watch the process closely for safety and quality.
Let the material cool before handling the pieces.
🧼 Finishing (Optional)
Clean up soot or residue with a soft brush or light sanding.
Apply finish or sealant depending on the material.
Attach jump rings and earring hooks through the top holes.
