Nice machine Mascot, Freddie the Smiling Bug. Gives you that happy happy feeling while you are making stuff....Keeps the Smile Strong!
Step 1) For this project the design starts with a simple circle created from the insert button, there are several other steps using the insert button and the combine feature for this project. Each step the Smiling bug grows to become ready. The first thing are the eye lids then the face is added the eyes themselves are added with the ovals. With the help from the subtract button the sides of the mouth are added by removing parts of an oval. These are placed on both sides of the face to create the opening of the mouth. This mouth is large enough to show his bright teeth. Three pieces are made 2 for the sides and one that will be enlarged for the bottom of the mouth opening. Once all the pieces are in place the combine feature is used to unite all of the face together.
Step 2) Now Freddie needs some bright teeth, this is done with the text editor and using the capital letter I Several letter I's are needed. Once set to the right size the whole lot of the letters are slightly curved using the curved feature. they are then placed over the face where the mouth opening is. Once this is in place the entire design is high lighted and the combine feature is used once again with the unite as an option. This removes everything between the letters and joins it to the mouth. Now to create an outline to be cut out so that Freddie becomes the smiling bug. This is done with the outline feature and is only slightly larger that the face itself. once all of this is ready the combine feature is used again but only to subtract at overlap so it reverses the engraving path.
Step 3) Now that Freddie has been created from scratch it is ready to become my laser machine mascot. Keeps me happy and smiling every time i see him……
