I've created a lamp that's easy to make, multi-layered, and customizable for our community. The design is centered around Easter, but you can personalize it for any season or occasion to suit your preferences. To get started, simply follow the straightforward instructions in my 'How Tos' to learn the trick 'Create Your Own Decorative Ornament in Lightburn.' I hope you enjoy crafting and using it!
Feel free to use my Easter template and skip directly to step 2.
Alternatively, you can create your own layers with your chosen motifs.
If you need assistance with this, you can check out my 'How To: Create Your Own Decorative Ornament in Lightburn' in my projects.
You'll also find a video in the downloads.
Don't forget to adjust the drawing for your wood thickness before cutting and, if necessary, set an offset equivalent to the width of your laser beam.
Depending on the type of light bulb you use, you may need to adjust the slot on the rear part.
Cut out all objects with your laser.
Depending on your preference, sand down your pieces or paint them to achieve more contrast in the finished project.
Insert and glue together the two border pieces on one side, then set it aside for now.
I'm using a simple battery-operated LED strip for the lighting here, approximately 300cm in length. Thread the LED strip through the hole on the bottom of the rear part. Lay out the LED strip as desired on the backside, ensuring that you end up at the bottom left or right again.
Insert the rear part of the lamp and run the LED strip through the gap along the bottom to the other side. Insert the next part and repeat this process until you have inserted all intermediate parts.
After attaching all three levels, attach the border. Use glue if desired.
Fold the backside onto the lamp and secure it with some glue.
To enhance the effect of the lamp, you can run the remaining LED strip once around the interior (see picture). Then, simply attach the front side of the lamp with some glue.
To conceal the gap on the front side, you can now attach the cover with some glue.
While the glue is drying, you can use some painter's tape to secure the lamp.
I wish you much joy with your new lamp.
