I do woodworking and make customized cutting boards. I prefer to to fill the engraving with epoxy so food doesn't get stuck in the holes or just cause issues. I've had issues in the past with not engraving deep enough and the epoxy not showing clear on the wood but found a power that works and gives consistent good results. Filling with epoxy gives it a nice clean look
I started with a test cut to make sure it was the size and depth I wanted. The photo above is just a test cut. I ended up going with 150 speed and 100% power. I ended up giving me a nice 1/8 inch depth. For the wedding cutting board shown in the photos I centered the date with the names. Choose a font that I liked. I prefer to engrave the customization in the bottom right due to epoxy not doing well with knife contact
