I created a "frame" to use as a background for gifts for my family and wanted to share the method I used
Choose a frame outline you like. In the one I cut, I found the frame I liked on Canva, but even XCS has built-in frame ideas. I used 2 for my how-to, but a third example is in my attached file.
Click on the outline button, then drag the slider until all parts of the frame design are united in one shape behind it.
Tip: Usually the value will be around an eighth to a quarter inch.
Move the detailed frame to the side, then grab a shape that you can fit in the center of the outline to “fill in” the middle. Click the new shape and the outline, then click combine → Unite on the top bar. This should leave you with a flat outline that will fit the detailed frame on top.
Cut (make sure both outline and frame are set to cut) and glue the detailed frame on top of the outline/background. You can then glue in a “picture”, paint the middle, or add whatever you want to your new frame.
For my example, I stained the backgrounds black to make the profile stand out more.
