In XCS change name and date making sure to keep the project within the cutting area. Underline can be modified to fit the name. With the F1 set up the slide extension follow prompts in XCS to set up properly.
Place your 5in x 9in plywood on the slide extension making sure to secure it with the provided clamps. In XCS use the framing feature to make sure clamps are not in the way of the cutting path. Once ready go back to XCS stop framing and select process follow prompts to start cutting.
When cutting is complete remove all parts and clean up. Sand paper can help remove the sot if any is left.
Choose a color for the letters. Spray paint or acrylic paint will work. Then let them dry.
Choose a stain that will complement your cut letters. First prepare the surface by sanding it smooth and clean. Then, stir the stain thoroughly and apply it evenly with a brush or rag, working with the wood grain. After a short wait 15mins, wipe away any excess stain with a clean cloth following the grain. Finally, allow the stain to dry completely and apply a sealant or topcoat for protection and a finished look.
Once everything is dry Glue it together for this step you can use a ruler as a straight edge to help keep everything straight or if you kept the plywood from the cut you can use it as a template.
Getting ready to hang, measure where you want to place the eyelets keeping it even. Predrill holes for the eyelets before inserting them. Apply chain to desired length.
Give away as a gift, hang on your wall, and Enjoy!
