Information
In the workshop there are several drawers and other pull out cabinets, many times when you are looking for something you open 5 different drawers before you realize what you are looking for is in the last drawer you check. This helps keep track of what might be in each drawer by labeling the fronts.

Step 1) First thing for this project is to measure the hardware used on the drawer handle that is being used. This then can become the size of the 2 holes needed to fasten the label on the drawer using the hardware. So after we know the length between the 2 holes need i created a oval from the insert button feature. I then created a rectangle the exact same size as the measurement between the holes of the handle. This will guide me to place the 2 5mm holes in the right place. Once I have made the 5mm circles and placed them in the right place the rectangle is no longer needed and is deleted.

Step 2) Now we need a space for the wording to be part of this label, I created a rectangle to go along the top of the oval. This was just the same width as the oval, to make it so it didn't have a sharp corner I used the radius button and rounded off the corners. Now the wording was added, this can be whatever it needs to be, depending on what might be i the drawer this is going on. I selected the following Screws, Washers, Nuts, and Utility Blades. This is just random based on the contents of each drawer. The file can easily be edited to change these words.

Step 3) Once the laser machine has finished engraving and cutting, a clear coat was applied to the wood for protection. This now goes between the handle and the drawer. It is held in place with the existing hardware the drawer handle was fastened with to begin with. This sits in clear view so you can see at a glance what you are looking for and if it might be in the drawer or which drawer it would be in. Trust me the more drawers and containers you have the more you open before you realize where things are.
