This is an inexpensive way to give your walls a bit of outsider/primitive interest. This frame shares the glass and backing of 5x7 flat frame from a bargain or hobby store.
Download the “adirondack” xcs file. The one page contains all the parts, but they don't fit on one 12x12 sheet. The outer frame fits on one sheet, while the inner frame and oak leaves on the second. The lines to be etched look a bit funky, but will be fine once the leaves are applied. (Also if there is a cut or erase function for the canvas to clean up loopy ends, I have not yet discovered it. The “combine” function did not do the cleanup)
I used two coats of Watco oil.
Glue the inner frame to the back of the outer frame. The inner frame has a larger opening than the outer frame to accommodate the art work.
Glue the clusters to the outer frame. There is a small notch where the stems meet that aligns with the corner of the outer frame.
Glue the purchased flat frame to the Adirondack frame so that the glass is shared by both.
It is now ready to hang.
