Step 1) With this project it is designed all within XCS capabilities and it starts with the shape closest to a football form the shapes list. This object is not quire the shape needed so it is resized and shaped to look closer to the shape of a football. Once this was set 2 narrow ovals are created using the insert button. the 2 are overlapped slightly to form a very narrow slice of the oval. Once this is in place the combine feature is used and the subtract feature is selected to remove the un-wanted parts. After you are left with the proper slices that make up the stripes on a football. the first one gets put in place the second one is flipped using the reflect button to reverse it. It then can be put on the other end.

Step 2) Now the new shaped football has the stripes in place so it is time to add an outline. once this is set using the outline feature by setting the offset to 2 the inner part with the 2 stripes are highlighted and the combine option is used. with the drop down of options the subtract button is used again. this removes the outside portion of the stripes and allows the outline to go all the way around the football. Now the iconic stitching is needed. this is created by creating a thin shape from the shape list of the proper oval shape. it is resized to a very thin shape. The array feature is used to created 8 more evenly spaced out based on the settings. Once this is completed a small thin rectangle is placed over top the first bar and the last bar. Now all of this is highlighted and the combine feature is used again to unite all the pieces together. You end up with what looks like stitches on a football.

Step 3) Now a player image is added, this is an SVG image from the computer, it is placed right beside the newly created football. All of the image will be set to be engraved on the bamboo serving tray. Now some wording. The theme of the day is a football game and many people will want snacks so we called it Game Day Snacks. This wording is added with the text editor, once the font and size is set the curved feature is used so the words can follow the shape of the football. Once this is set and the settings are adjusted it is off to be lasered.
