Heart Jewelry Tray
Instruction
Designed entirely in XCS including the living hinge. This heart-shape jewelry tray is made from XTool Sapele and can be used to store rings, earrings, bracelets, and necklaces in a place you'll remember to find them again. It features hearts along the entire perimeter of the living hinge and fences.
The center can be personalized with your name, anniversary dates, or favorite quotes.
Detailed instructions and settings can be found in the XCS file. You should have a total of 7 pieces as shown in the image.
Note that the file is intended for use with 3.2mm thick material. If you use a different material or resize the design, the pieces may not fit together properly. Using different cut parameters may also affect the kerf.
Use distilled white vinegar or another cleaning agent to wipe down the charred surfaces. Be careful not to damage the living hinges.
Note that the two hinges are NOT identical. The engraved hearts go on the outside of the tray. No glue is needed.
On a flat, solid surface, partially insert each peg from the living hinge into the matching slot. See image. Only push down directly above where the peg is to avoid damaging the hinge. Once all the pegs are all partially inserted, fully push down on each one again. Repeat the process to insert the other hinge.
The four fences are identical. Insert them as shown in the image.
