This 5 week Challenge came at the right time, I was constantly fighting with the cables dropping away, So this came at a good time to create something that will hold the cables at a good place to grab when needed. This sits on the edge of a desk or table top for convenience.
Step 10 This project of cable management starts out with a half circle shape from the shapes list. it is resized an set on the work area. The organizer needs a place to hold the cables so small circles are created by the use of the insert button and they are made. Each of these small circles are then placed in a third position on the half circle created earlier.
Step 2) This is when the cut outs to hold each cable is created, this is done by making a rectangle from the insert button and placing it squarely in front of each circle making sure they are within the circle and going past the outer half circle. The next thing to do is highlight it all so the combine feature can be used. once selected the subtract option is used to remove the path between the smaller circles and the outside edge.
Step 3) For this step I wanted to add names of each port if you will so I would know with a quick glance for what each cable is for. This was done with the text editor and was simply placed near each area. Then it was off to the laser machine for engraving and cutting
Step 4) In this step the 2 sided tape is applied to the back top portion of the cable organizer. The 2 sided tape comes in full A4 size sheets and can be cut to the desired size needed for the task. Once the tape is in place and the protective is removed it exposes the sticky side so it can be stuck to the edge of a desk or table top. Once it is fastened the cables fit into the corresponding holes and are easily reached.
