Time to design your files. I'm haven't mastered the creating my own files on Canva yet, so I'm using resources I have in Xtool. You will need to get a heart shape and resize to the size you would like. Next add your side design. I went with Roses. You will want to attach these together. You will use the subract button on the combine option. 

Next add another heart that is slightly larger. You want there to be a heart boarder. Subtract these together again so they are one piece

Take another heart- the size of the larger heart and put that one another tab. This will be your acrylic/patternply. 

If using 3M adhesive, add it to your wood before cutting. 

Next cut the wood. I use the setting that appear in Xtool and don't need to change them. 

I do have an air assist to help with charring. 

I'm using a red and I'm going to attempt to cut a pink one… Its not always possible with a diode laser, but it sure doesn't hurt to try. – I was able to get the pink to work, just took about 12 passes… time and patience. 

Take off the 3M paper, and attach 

Since the hearts won't stay up on their own, we will buidl a stand. To do that, make a few different size rectangles that you will attach on each other. The top one will need a slit to put the heart though. Use a width ruler (I made one from an Xtool Template I found) to get the right distance. I always so just a smidge smaller so it holds tight.
