Step1: Clean your stainless steel

The cleaner you get your surface, the better your engraving will look.  I wipe mine down with rubbing alcohol, and then dry wipe with a lint free towel.  Even finterprints will show in the color if you leave it.

Step2: Change your process settings

Use the photo as a guide.  To get to this menu, click the button in xcs indicated with the arrow.  Make sure your settings look the same as mine.  Especially don't use Smart, as I got lines in my engraving using this.

Step3: Process

Now you are ready to process.   Different metals and thicknesses will affect the color, so you can have slight variations.  Always make your own material test grid if possible to dial in your machine perfectly.
