Information
I made this engraved wooden sign as a dramatic warning for anyone bold enough to approach my game room without dice in hand. Inspired by classic dungeon crawl aesthetics, it features skulls, dice, and a deeply unimpressed little goblin guarding the threshold of nerdy doom.

The phrase “Abandon All Hope Ye Who Enter Without Dice” is a playful twist on the legendary warning from Dante’s Inferno, except in my version, you get punished not for your sins, but for forgetting your polyhedrals.

Step1: Design Prep

I imported my custom layout into XCS, making sure all elements were grouped as an engrave layer for consistent shading.

I added lots of texture detail: vines, skulls, dice with actual numbers, and a tiny goblin whose face fully communicates “you forgot your dice and I’m judging you.”

Centered the text “Abandon All Hope Ye Who Enter Without Dice” beneath an arched dungeon entrance for that classic infernal energy.

Step2: Wood Prep and Laser Work

This piece was burned into existence using my XTool S1 and a rectangular wooden blank from my stash (approx. 7x5"). The design was fully engraved because I wanted those chunky dungeon bricks, cranky goblin, and haunted skulls to have max depth and drama.
