Step1: Preparations for engraving

You'll need:

A stone tile (I bought the cheapest one from a local store)

Black acrylic spray paint

White acrylic spray paint (or another color of your choice)

Step2: Painting

  • First, we paint the first layer white (or another color). I used a fast-drying acrylic (10 minutes).
  • After 10 minutes, I applied another layer of white paint (this is not always necessary).
  • The next layer is black, which serves as the top layer of our coaster.
  • Once the coasters are dry, they go under the laser :)

I used an IR laser for the awesome engraving. After about 5 minutes, the coaster is ready.
You can apply a layer of clear (matte!) varnish on top, but in this case, I decided not to.
