Dive into the world of laser cutting and engraving with this delightful project! Create a beautifully crafted jewelry ring box measuring 43x43mm, with an approximate height of 30mm, made from 3mm Birch Plywood. This charming box features intricate engravings on the sides, adding a touch of elegance and sophistication. The top engraving can be customized with either a design or text, making it a perfect personalized gift for someone special. I created this for the hardwood rings that I crafted. A suitable inlay for the ring you'll find on ama.zon, 4x4x2,8cm boxes "48 pieces". I use the craft-boxes for other things like keychains, and other small creations, where I don't need the inlay for the ring. Follow the step-by-step tutorial to cut, assemble, and engrave your unique ring box. Whether you're a hobbyist or a professional, you'll find joy in crafting this lovely ring box that highlights your creativity and precision. Get ready to create a beautiful ring box that will be cherished for years to come. Update: Updated files and cut colors + Added flowers and leaves SVG, if you want some top engraving.
Begin by selecting a suitable wood for your jewelry ring box. I used 3mm Birch Plywood for this. Ensure it is smooth and free of any imperfections.
As always, if desired, you can paint the wood either before or after cutting to add color and enhance the design. If you paint it before, allow the paint to dry completely before moving on to the next step.
Tip: If you paint it before, set the engraving to lower power (or higher speed) so that it won't burn the wood, allowing the light wood color to come through. Most times, you need to run two to three passes for the engraving for an optimal result. Making a test on the same plywood is recommended.
Next, prepare your laser. Carefully place the wood on the cutting bed, ensuring it is securely positioned.
Now, load the design file into xTool Creative Space and adjust the settings for optimal processing with your machine and according to the plywood you use. The kerf offset is for the red lines. Set the recommend setting that you commonly use. For example, 0.1.
Refer to the design file for guidance on the different line colors:
Make sure the design is scaled correctly to fit your chosen plywood piece. Execute the cut with precision, following safety guidelines to avoid any mishaps.
Once the cutting is complete, remove the wood from the laser cutter and inspect the pieces.
Now we need to put the parts together. But it's easy going, isn't it?
Start with the bottom or the top of the box, it's up to you.
Apply a thin coat of strong glue on the parts where they come together. Remove any excess glue if needed and let the glue dry completely.
Congratulations! 🎉 I hope you like it 😊
Your beautiful ring box is ready to hold your precious jewelry.
Enjoy highlighting your craftsmanship and creativity with this lovely addition to your collection!
