I used to work at a pet resort until recently and I wanted to make something special for two of my favourite people. We all love our animals and one of the girls has now just become a fully qualified vet. I have made her a slate coaster as well so when I find the images of what I did with that I will share that as well.
For the Veterinarian font I chose Castellar as I felt being on something so small I would need a font that would be too flimsy look unreadable when resized. For the Jorja font I chose Centaur. The K font was one I got from Creative fabrica called love dog.
Once I had my fonts I proceeded to make the hear paw which is similar to a coaster I made for Christmas but had decided to slightly rotate the the two outer oval parts to sit nicely.
For Jorja I chose an image with a horse, cat & dog as she has bunch of each of these beautiful babies and thought this would be more be fitting for her.
As for Kyra of course I chose and image containing animals with a cross in there due to her becoming a vet. I traced these images and discarded and then chose to engrave those images. I also decided to combine Kyra's image to the font.
For Jorja where her name is I copied and pasted the paw prints and put them either side of her name and chose score for that.
I measured up the rectangle keyrings to make sure all of my sizing's were correct and then fist placed them sideways for the veterinarian / Jorja and made sure placement was correct then started the processing.
For the opposite sides I placed them lengthways and sized both the K and the image to suit the format for each of the keyring's (these keyring's were scored and engraved separately).
Once the Keyring's were completed, I cleaned them on both sides with isocol rubbing alcohol so that they would no longer be sticky from the heat of the laser.
The girls absolutely loved their gifts, I hope you enjoy making them and obviously replace the name and the letter to utilise for you own purposes. If you have pets and would like to make a gift for your veterinarian, I think this would be a lovely idea.
