Information
A friend of mine gave me a bottle of sparkly for my 60th birthday last year and let my local bottle shop know it was for me so they had a spare wooden box and put it in there for me. I decided to design an image to put on the outside of the box. I found some champagne bottle images from one of the bottle shops along with champagne glasses and some green grapes which I cut out in photoshop.

The photo's really don't do it justice and I think that maybe it's the wood that the box is made of but it does look much better in person.

Step1: Adding Images & Resizing

I imported the images I had cut out from photo's and resized them to suit the width and height of the box I was going to be using.  I sized the bottle to 7 inches in height and the champagne glass to 5 inches in height.

Step2: Greyscale and Positioning

I greyscaled the bottle to 33% and the glass to 71% and played around with how I wanted it positioned.  I sent the glass backwards to just sit behind the bottle.  I then sized the vine down so that I could slightly sit it behind the grapes to make it look as if it was part of them.  once I had that done I grouped them together and did a greyscale of that.

Step3: More Positioning and adding font.

After deciding how I wanted the grapes positioned over the bottle I added the font, I used the font Algerian.  I used the circle insert and had it as an oval shape and shaped the font around that.  I then placed it to sit how I would like it on the box.  I was going to engrave this but decided to score instead and am glad I chose to do that.

Step4: Setting up for Engraving and Scoring

I initially had put masking tape on this but ended up taking it off and starting again by framing it.  I can't believe I aligned it perfectly to what the original was.  I went ahead and set it off for the engraving and once that was completed after 30 minutes (my module kept stopping so if anyone has some hints or tips for me that would be very much appreciated, I am still very new to this and only started lasering month ago).  I then positioned the module for the scoring and when I was happy with that set to process, that took just 59 seconds without any stopping.

I realise that my image isn't sitting where I would like on the box and this is due to how the grapes are place and slightly rotated (something to be mindful of when setting up).  I had it all though out in my mind and then forgot.

Have fun!
