I’ve tried all kinds of leaves and honestly, I don’t know exactly what kind this one is — I just go by feel.
Pothos leaves work great too. Just look for leaves that are a little thick and not too dry. Thin ones might tear or scorch.

I used a xTool M1 Ultra (20W), but you can try it with any laser engraver you have.

Find a nice leaf — take a walk, check your garden, or wherever nature’s calling.

Wash it gently and let it dry fully.

Open the design in xTool Creative Space or whatever software you use.

Tape the leaf corners lightly onto a piece of scrapbook paper (or any backing) to hold it in place.

Set your laser machine up and make sure it’s focused properly.

These are the settings I used:

Power: 33%

Speed: 100

Lines per cm: 100

Engraving usually takes around 3–5 minutes, depending on the leaf’s size.
