Information
Just sharing something I had fun making.
These are two little hummingbird designs that I engraved on real leaves using my laser machine. I thought someone else might enjoy them too. 🐦🍃

You’ll get:

2 designs (SVG + XCS)

Clean lines, easy to engrave

Works great for leaves, but you can also use them on paper, wood, etc.

No physical item — just a digital download to play around with however you like.

Step1: 🍃 Instructions (If You Want to Try It on Leaves)

I’ve tested a bunch of different leaves. I’m not totally sure what kind these are (nature’s wild like that), but pothos leaves also work really well. Anything a little thick and not too dry should be okay. Thin leaves might tear during engraving.

I use the xTool M1 Ultra (20W) but you can adjust these steps for whatever setup you’re using.

Step-by-step:

Find your favorite leaves — take a walk, grab a few nice ones from your backyard or a park.

Wash them gently and let them dry completely.

Open the design in xTool Creative Space or any laser software you like.

Tape the leaf down lightly (just the corners!) on a piece of cardstock or scrapbook paper to hold it in place.

Check focus + set your machine.

These are the settings I used:

Power: 30%

Speed: 100

Lines per cm: 100

Then just hit Process — engraving takes about 3–5 minutes depending on the leaf size.

Hope you have fun trying this out. 💚 No pressure — just a small project that made me smile.
