This xcs file will create a leather draw string bag. Create a bag for your coins, marbles, jewelry, or any other small personals. This project requires some leather crafting experience, and leather tools. You will need the F1 Slide Extension for this project
Lets start out by pre-cutting the leather we will need to do each section.
Check each section for size and cut just a bit bigger.
Our first step is going to be applying 2 coats of neatsfoots oil. The oil helps hydrate the leather and will help the color.
Now apply your color choice of dye to your pieces.
I used Pro-Oil Dye in medium brown. I also use an airbrush to apply my dye.
Now place your leather pieces in your F1 and let it do its thing.
After your pieces are cut apply one more coat of oil to your pieces.
Now use the smallest beveler you have and bevel your top edge of your body section front and back, and front and back of your circle.
Next take your favorite gum trach, and apply a thin coat to the beveled edges and burnish your edges smooth.
Lets start at the bottom and place the round bottom on top of the leather body edge. Use a saddle stitch and go all the way around. When you complete the round section, start at the bottom and stitch the body together going up using a saddle stitch.
Now take your 3rd piece and fold in over each other and stitch it up.
Now I used a 2mm round leather cord that comes on a spool. I used 16" of cord to run through my bag and apply my cord tie and tie your string at the end.
Your done!
