1. Select the image you want to use. This was a feww image online that I used

2. You will need to make this able to be cut out so click on the image, right click, select trace image, make sure the delete image after trace is checked to make it easier., click ok.

3. Now the image has been changed to allow you to cut it out.  Make sure that it all connects to be able to cut as one piece.

4. I always like to change it to fill just to be able to see what it will look like when cut.  I also always create a mini version first to make sure it is going to cut out correctly. I also give the mini version to the customer as an ornament as well.  Puts a smile on their face.

5 Make sure to change the settings back to Line before cutting it out.

6. I used the D1 Pro 20 watt and on this piece I used a much thicker piece of wood due to the free hanging lines in between the notes.

7. My settings were speed 420 mm/min and 80 power with 3 passes (made it 3 passes for the thicker wood)  If using mm/sec it would be 7 speed and 80 power 3 passes.

8. Start the cut

The piece I created was 14 inches long.

I have included the SVG file that can be used with XCS

Painting and Sealing

After the piece has been cut, I painted it balck using Rustoleum 2X Gloss Black. I usually use a few coats to completely cover.

Once it has dried I like to put a sealer of some sort on it.  This is your choice.  For a nice high gloss I use Krylon Triple Thick Clear Gloss Glaze or Minwax Polycrylic Clear Gloss.  You can use what you prefer. I have included pictures of the products I use.  If you are going to be hanging anything outside, I love to use Minwax Helmsman Spar Urethane.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my projects
