A trivet for the Easter table or just decoration. A hare triskele is encircled by a wreath of flowers. The three running rabbits - tinners rabbits- symbol can be found around the world signifying rebirth or renewal. There is even an old German riddle: three hares sharing three ears, yet every one of them has two!
The trivet was designed to be festive on an Easter table combining spring and rebirth symbols. It can be left plain or decorated. The negative spaces define the rabbits while their feet keep the connected to the spring flowers.
Once cut, seal the wood. I used Watco golden oak Danish oil, three coats. At this point the trivet is ready to go. But, it can also be decorated using permanent markers or paint pens using the engraving as a coloring guide.
