I had a customer I have done business with from craft shows contact me about a custom project. Her son brought home this rock from a trip he took and they wanted there last name engraved on it and then use it as a marker in front of there house.
First I measured the rock and did a mock up in xcs so I could send it to my customer for approval. I also sent them a test array on a similar rock I had.
Once the mock up was approved I then made a cut out of the engraved area so I could have an idea of where it was going to be placed then framed it up to make sure it was as straight as I could get it.
This was after the first pass it took an 1 hour and 20ish minutes. It came out a little light to me so I ran it again at a much higher speed and slower pass. It was apparently to hot because the rock started to turn white is some areas. So I ran it again at the first settings I had and it seemed to take out the whiteness. I then took it outside and cleaned it with water and a soft bristle brush.
This is the final result of the project.
