I created spring glasses where you can see Easter bunnies hopping over a rainbow, Easter eggs in the grass, and colorful flowers. I painted the layers in the vibrant shades of spring and joy. Why this project? Because Easter is a time of hope, colors, and positive energy! I wanted to capture this special atmosphere and make the world look even more magical and cheerful.
Prepare a 3mm A4 plywood sheet (I recommend lightly sanding it before cutting to achieve a smooth surface on the cut elements).
In this project, I used two processes: cutting and engraving to bring out the depth of the small details.
My settings:Cut:
Power(%) 100
Speed (mm/s) 5
Pass 2
Engrave
Power(%) 80
Speed (mm/s) 150
Pass 1
The cutting and engraving process took me approximately one hour to complete.
I painted the cut-out elements with Liquitex Basics Acrylic paints and glitter paints I had on hand (to give the layers some sparkle), applying them layer by layer as shown in the attached picture. I avoided the areas that will be glued.
The glasses can be painted according to your own preferences; personally, I recommend spring pastel colors. The raw version also looks unique and striking.
Once the painted elements were completely dry, I carefully glued them together, layer by layer, using Pattex wood glue, in the correct order, as shown in the attached picture. When gluing the layers together, always make sure they are properly aligned. At this stage, it’s important not to rush. I apply small droplets of glue along the edges, ensuring that when the pieces are joined and pressed, the glue doesn’t spill outside the bonding area.
