Here is something to help all you vendors out there that visit events and faires. These are mini pricing stands/placards with balancing supports. I use these at my events and they are so easy to set up and then take apart and store. It makes it very convenient to have these available at every event. They measure 2.5" wide x 1.5" tall x 1.5" deep Included with this is the SVG and XCS files and have 80 different tags which include: Pricing from $1-$25 in $1 increments $30-$200 in $5 increments $225-$300 in $25 increments "Clearance" "B1G1" "B2G1" "BOGO" "Special" "Mix & Match" "Buy 1 Reg Price Get 1 for" "Mothers Day Special" "Fathers Day Special" "Valentine Special" "Christmas Special" "Halloween Special" "Memorial Day Special" "Easter Special" "Labor Day Special" "Holiday Special" Left Pointing Arrow Right Pointing Arrow Heart Blank one to make your own
I created this file a long time ago in the hopes it would aid me in my events and setups. Rather than price each item individually, I wanted a display that could be swapped if needed for specials and sales. I have several different versions of these on various 3mm material. I have used Acrylic, Birch, Walnut, etc…
That being said, the settings included with this file are for 3mm Birch / Ecobirch. If you use a different material, you will need to adjust these settings accordingly.
Also note that these were made on the P2 but you should be able to make these with any laser machine, again, adjusting the settings to your machines proper settings for the material you use. However, if using the F1, be sure to account for the slight angle to cuts which can affect how each price tag gets put together.
Each pricing stand/placard is grouped together and includes two pieces: the price point and the balancing leg. They slide together quite easily.
I usually carry these to events divided into two separate zip lock bags. The pricing ones are in one bag and the legs are in another.
Select which pricing you want and line it up on the canvas on your screen. I recommend getting as many on one board as possible and always cut a few blanks in case you need to price items you forgot at your event. I make sure to take a large chiseled head marker with me for just such a case. Each tag is grouped separately in the XCS plans and has two parts. The top, or price piece and the bottom, or leg piece. The top piece has a slit cut out on the right side and the bottom has a slit cut out on the left side.
Place your two pieces together by sliding the slit of the bottom piece onto the slit of the top piece. When done correctly you will have a pricing sign/placard as see in picture 3 attached to this step and it leans slightly as shown in picture 4.
NOTE: This step is assuming you used the XCS file. If you used the SVG file then you will need to delete the font completely and then enter your own text.
The font for this is xTools Lobster Font. You are welcome to change your font as I do sometimes to accomodate the event I attend. However, you will most likely need to resize the font and place it back into position.
To change the font, select the pricing you want and then ungroup it by pressing Cntl-Shift-G or clicking “Ungroup” at the top of the screen. Then select just the pricing and change it to the font you want from the font menu at the top of the screen.
Shown here is two examples of the tags at one of my events. I did these with Old English font and on walnut MDF from xTool. Love how they looked.
The settings for Birch/Eco Birch worked on the walnut MDF perfectly, by the way.
