Information

Easter Basket with Egg Hunt Functionality!

Dimensions: H = 195 mm, W = 122 mm, D = 185 mm.
The holes for the eggs are designed to fit Kinder Surprise eggs.

I'm sharing a small side project of mine with you.

It's an Easter basket that features a rotating disc with a lever on the side. You can use this to store up to six clues about the hiding spots of the eggs.

The basket also provides space for six eggs to be found. The egg holder is removable, allowing the basket to be used as a regular basket as well.

Included are the templates in XCS format for 3mm Material, as shown in the image, along with DIY files.

You can easily design your own basket! For further details, check out the "Instructions" section.

I am releasing this file as Public Domain, allowing you to use the template freely for both private and commercial purposes. The bunny design was created using AImake.

I would love to see your finished designs and modifications showcased in the comments!

Everything you need is on 5 canvases in the XCS file.

If you want to laser-cut the template I created, note that it is split across two canvases (part01 & part02).

Please keep the following in mind:

  • You need to first insert your desired hint texts! Instructions for this can be found in Step 2.
  • Make sure to adjust the parameters to match your material.
  • Note that the blue lines are for orientation purposes only and should be set to "ignore."
2

Step2: Change text on textweel

This concerns the canvases: part01 and textplates_diy

  • Watch the first video to learn how to edit the text in Creative Space.
  • If you want to attach your own lever, watch the second video!
3

Step3: Assembly

In the video, you can see in detail how to assemble the basket!

I recommend gluing all the parts together, except for the text wheel, to improve the basket's stability.

Step4: Create your own cover plate

There's not much to explain here. Simply add your favorite vectors, images, and texts to the template! 😊

Step5: Create your own side panel

This concerns the canvas: side_diy

Watch the short video to learn how to add your own vectors on the side panels.
