Begin by opening xTool Creative Space. Within the software, adjust your project as needed: resize the design to your preferred dimensions to fit your materials and desired final size. While this design primarily uses cutting to create the layered effect, be sure to review the cut settings for each layer to ensure optimal results for your specific laser cutter and chosen materials.

Load a sheet of walnut wood into your xTool laser cutter. This walnut piece will form your Easter egg's base and top layer, providing beautiful contrast between layers. Start the cutting process for these layers. This initial walnut cut should take approximately 4 minutes to complete.

Once the walnut base layer is cut, carefully remove it from your laser cutter. Replace the walnut with a sheet of basswood. Basswood will be used for the middle contrast layers. Start the laser cutting process for the subsequent two layers using the basswood sheet. Safety Tip: Finely detailed laser projects like this can sometimes be more susceptible to flare-ups. Never leave your laser cutter unattended while it is operating. Keep a watchful eye and have a fire extinguisher or water spray bottle nearby just in case. This basswood cutting process will take approximately 30 minutes.

Step4: Assemble the Layers with Super Glue

After all four layers have been precisely cut and removed from the laser cutter, you're ready for assembly! Using super glue, begin by applying a thin layer of super glue to the bottom of the 3rd layer. Carefully align and place the 3rd layer onto the bottom (4th) layer, ensuring precise alignment before the glue sets. Next, apply a thin layer of super glue to the bottom of the 2nd layer. Carefully position and place the 2nd layer on top of the 3rd layer, again double-checking for proper alignment. Finally, apply a thin layer of super glue to the bottom of the 1st layer. Carefully place the 1st layer onto the 2nd layer, completing the layered structure. Allow the super glue to fully dry and cure according to the manufacturer's instructions for optimal bonding.
