Information

      Merry Christmas Everyone.
I have designed 2 different Christmas coasters for those who love cats & dogs (especially Border Collie's) as much my whole family does. They are a great part of our lives. I decide to do a square & a circle slate coaster. I was originally going to use my pets but thought against it. Enjoy!

Step1: Setting up Images

I added in my image  as an svg, then proceeded to add in some shapes from the shapes panel.  For the snowflakes I took them out of one of the bauble shapes and copy and pasted twice and then slightly rotated to how I wanted them to look then resized 2 of them.  I chose one of the Christmas trees and then resized it as well.  I resized my border Collie image to how I wanted it.

Step2: Adding Font, playing around with design area

I clicked the text tool and chose a Font, once I had chosen my font I typed in Santa Paws, enter, then is coming with a leading of 2 to give me a wider space to be able to put the other images within the text area.  Once I had them placed where I wanted I chose combine and subtract at overlap.  I then did a circle so that I could get the cat coaster started.

Step3: Setting up the circle Coaster

As with the first coaster I added my image and shapes and used a different font this time, the difference was with the font I typed Merry first and place it into my circle and then clicked on the little rectangle to the right of the word and placed it to position into the shape of the circle and repeated with the word Catmas.  I then placed all the images where I wanted and the deleted the circle.  I then combined and subtracted at overlap.

Once I had my designs set up, it was a matter of resizing them for processing, this took a few goes to get it precise.  Firstly I ignored the cat file as I was wanting to engrave the Border Collie one first and left it at output.  After making sure my module was suited to the slate I then proceeded to work on the engraving area and adjusted the file size appropriately (which is set up for that size in the download file), at which time I then sent it for processing.  Once that was completed I then went into creative workspace and ignored the square file and set the circular one to output, I then sent that for framing and adjusted the sizing for that one. Once I was happy I then proceeded to process.

I hope you enjoy these files and have the best Christmas shared with family and friends.
