Take your 3mm basswood sheet and layout the design. If done, check and set the settings, and the kerf offset for the red lines. Begin by cutting out all the elements for your miniature lighthouse. Refer to the design file for guidance on the different line colors:

  • Blue and Cyan lines: These lines indicate where the laser will cut.
  • Red lines: These lines indicate where the laser will cut with kerf offset. Please set it to the right value for your machine and material/wood you use. See https://support.xtool.com/article/1425
  • Purple: Is for engraving.
  • Yellow lines: These lines are for scoring.
  • Black: Is ignored by the laser.

The roof is scored with rings to ensure easy placement of the other elements.

Note: For easy assembly of the base without headaches, you can use a string/thread. This is optional but recommended for a smoother assembly process.

You can paint the elements if you like before assembling. Once everything is ready, begin with the base. Carefully assemble the parts as shown in the images. The Base-Top-Raiser (the ring) you need to glue on top.
