Information
Shared my files for slate eagle coasters but needed to have a place to store them so that they wouldn't chip. Needed to look good too! So I made this box to hold them.

Step1: Get everything set up for processing

You will need to have 2 12 by 12 boards of basswood.  Each has its own canvas.

Set up the first canvas - it has 4 squares and the sides to support them.  Make sure to select basswood (otherwise make sure to adjust the settings to other materials).

Perform the autofocus (tape measure), then set the processing area (the golf flag).  Make sure to more the pieces into the processing area.

Process the piece (around 20 minutes or less since you are also engraving one piece with the eagle.

Remove and set the next board up.  Repeat the process using the second canvas.  This one has a square (no indent) and a larger eagle head.

Process the piece and remove.

The reason this is intermediate is because of the need to glue and align the pieces.

Using the large square as the base, make sure the engraved side is facing down.  Also make sure that the orientation of the eagle as what you would like.  Spread some glue along the non-notch edges as this is where the shorter pieces go.  The edge with the flat end will face the open (notched) side.  Glue the joining sections and make sure the pieces are flush with the edge and joined at the corners.  Remember that the notch edge should be clear.  Add a notched piece on top and repeat the process.  The last piece is the smaller engraved eagle with the notched edge.  Make sure that the eagle is oriented in the same way as that of the bottom eagle (unless you want to mix it up on purpose).

Let the piece dry 24 hours before slipping in the coasters.
