I have made 3 Ornaments with backing of my own designs for my friend to put on her Christmas tree. I have individualised them with her cats names on them. I hand painted and glued both the backing and front together. All parts of this design are cut files. I have the file for download where you can decide whether you want to engrave or cut names out. This has been made with the D1 Pro 5w machine.
I took a jpeg image of two cats from one of my folders and traced the image.
I then discarded the image and used the outline tool to create an area with enough space to enable a good width of cutting area so as not to compromise it. I then did another outline and kept it as close the the original outline as possible and moved it over to another area of the workspace. This is the backing piece.
I imported images of a reindeer, stars, and two different snowflakes to the workspace and traced those images and resized them.
I did a rectangle shape and two circle shapes (the circles are for hanging the ornament).
Once the images were resized and the rectangle was to size and width, I started to play around with where I wanted to put them and made sure that different parts of them were touching portions of the cats.
Once I had got them to where I wanted them I Combined and subtracted outline at overlap.
I then added a name to where the rectangle sits on the cat and combined that as well.
Once I was happy with everything, I made sure to Ignore the backing and set my machine up to cut the intricate part of the cat.
Once that was completed I then cut the backing.
I cut 3 different ornaments and hand painted the front and back of the backing and then painted the front of the Intricate part.
Once dried I glued the front and back together, glued on the crystals and the wrapped the two different strings around each other, tied the in a knot and looped them through through the hole.
I hope you enjoy making this design as much as I did!
Merry Christmas everyone.
