I am into American History and love the 1776 flag. I was learning how to make things with the XCS program with AI and the many features. I created this code of arms with AI typing in just "1776". 3D wood art takes some learning and I am no pro still trying to learn this method. I followed the directions of another creator to do this.
I am new to the world of 3D wood art using a laser. I bought the S1-40watt to start making products for wood business. Jumped on the computer this morning to work on a wedding piece and watched the video to learn more about XCS and the many tools it has on there. I am a huge American history person and studied alot on the beginning of the country. I used the ai feature in XCS by typing “1776”, I selected 3d code of arms and the image seen is what was produced. I decided to learn how to do 3d art with this image.
The first image you need to adjust your grey scale. I selected the image and selected adjust. Sharpness: 50 Saturation: 0 Brightness: 30 Contrast: 0 and the Grayscale: 155. Then select Engrave Power: 50% Speed: 300 mms Bitmap Mode: Jarvis Lines per centimeter: 200
Copy the first image and paste it on the canvas select adjust and make the adjustments to: Sharpness: 50 Saturation: 0 Brightness: 12 Contrast: 0 and the Grayscale: 210. Then select Engrave Power: 50% Speed: 250 mms Bitmap Mode: Jarvis Lines per centimeter: 240
Copy the second image and paste it on the canvas select adjust and make the adjustments to: Sharpness: 50 Saturation: 0 Brightness: 20 Contrast: 0 and the Grayscale: 180. Then select Engrave Power: 60% Speed: 250 mms Bitmap Mode: Jarvis Lines per centimeter: 240
Copy the third image and paste it on the canvas select adjust and make the adjustments to: Sharpness: 50 Saturation: 0 Brightness: 4 Contrast: 0 and the Grayscale: 245. This time change the grayscale on left side to 15. Then select Engrave Power: 40% Speed: 200 mms Bitmap Mode: Jarvis Lines per centimeter: 280
Once you have all four images made and settings done you will now need to layer them. Select the lightest image and on bottom left select move to and select the first color. Then you will do that for the remainder of the images separately. Once you have all the images in its own layer than you will move them in the order with the lightest to the darkest. Select the far left corner layer icon and you will move them in the order. Select all the images and select align and align center on the bottom. This will put them all ontop of each other.
Select your image and click the offset feature and ensure external is only selected. Depending on what you are wanting you can have some wood left around the image or not. I selected 0 for the distance offset for the cut. Select the move to and assign another color to this layer and put this as your final layer for the project. This took 2 hours and 38 minutes to make. Have fun with making 3D wood art.
