I work with multilayered wall decorations up to nine layers and getting them aligned is sometimes challenging. To help I made this jig that helps align layers before clamping.
I made mine from 3mm off cuts from previous projects. The project file has two brackets with six of the L-shaped brackets but if you need more just cut as many as you need. With my applications I use two of the assembled brackets in two opposite corners of the piece.
Load and prep the laser as usual and cut the job.
One at a time glue the L-shaped pieces to the square backing piece making sure the pieces align. CA glue or Titebond Speed Set is works well for this step.
Place the completed jig on your work table then place the first layer on the jig in one corner. Then apply glue to the second layer and place it on the first layer. Use the jig to align the layers. For extra accuracy use a second jig in the diagonal corner and check alignment. Apply clamps and remove the jigs to ensure that they do not get glued to the piece. When the glue is set remove the clamps and repeat for each layer.
