This delightful little roadster brings a touch of vintage charm to any space. With its classic design and thoughtful details, it’s a fun and nostalgic nod to the early days of automobiles. Crafted as a freestanding silhouette, it sits securely on its own base, making it easy to display on a shelf, desk, or mantel. Whether you’re a car enthusiast, a fan of vintage décor, or just love unique pieces, this roadster is a great way to add a little character to your home. Simple, stylish, and full of personality, it’s the perfect accent for anyone who appreciates a bit of old-fashioned flair! (Personalize it your way! The text on the motorcar is fully customizable—swap out “Taxi” for a name, a special date, or any word that fits your style.)
Before cutting, consider applying an adhesive masking layer to the wood for the top layer of the automobile. This makes gluing much easier later on!
Also, keep in mind that some of the smaller cutouts are delicate, so handle them with care when removing them from the laser bed.
For the best look, paint all pieces before assembly, including the base. This ensures even coverage and a polished finish!
(I used acrylic paint pens, which made it very easy to paint the smaller pieces.)
Glue together the base, which consists of three pieces. Use the score lines as guides to align the pieces before gluing them together.
Next, assemble the car itself. There are several pieces, so take your time and use the score lines to puzzle them together correctly.
Once everything is assembled, apply a sealant or finish of your choice to enhance durability and bring out the details.
Your Vintage Motorcar is now complete! Place it on a shelf, desk, or mantel and enjoy its timeless charm.
