I really like Celtic shapes, so with St. Patrick's Day coming I thought I would make some coasters. The cherry I cut was about 9mm which may have been too thick, not sure. So printed on S1 10w and I will cut each out on my bandsaw. You don't have to use cherry, I just wanted to experiment a little.
Resawed slab of cherry down to 9mm, planed and sanded to prepare for laser. Worked on coaster design and created in XCS. Processed using these settings.
Cherry wood not set up as a selection on my machine, so I used walnut wood and experimented with the settings. I used 100 power and 70 speed.
Sanded, sealed with Polyurethane and cut out circle on bandsaw (to avoid burning).
